Frequently asked questions
-
What is fee-for-service mobile pediatric care, and how is it different from a traditional pediatrician?
Fee-for-service mobile pediatric care means your child's doctor comes to you — at home, at your hotel, or by video — instead of you sitting in a waiting room. Basecamp does not take insurance, but instead there is a fee paid at the time of the visit and Dr. Harris can provide a superbill for the fee so you can remit for HSA or insurance reimbursement.Do you have a physical office?
No — Basecamp is a fully mobile and telehealth practice.Do you see patients who are just visiting the area?
Yes. Basecamp is built for both local families and visiting families — including hotel guests and travelers who need pediatric care while away from their regular doctor.
-
Can you handle same-day or after-hours sick visits?
Yes, same-day visits are a core part of what we do. For after-hours care, including weekends, we can possibly accommodate you, but we need to confirm with Dr. Harris and her availability. There is an extra fee for after-hours care. How far in advance do I need to book?
Routine visits can be scheduled ahead of time; Fee-for-service and urgent visits are designed for same-day booking. What happens in a true emergency — should I still call you first?
No. For any life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Basecamp is designed for urgent and routine pediatric care, not emergency medicine.
